In death, life is changed not ended [from the Preface for the dead].
In the same way, Jesus showed us that death cannot end God's love. Death changes it, but it cannot end love. The love that the Father gives us does not end in death. It goes beyond death. Love is more powerful than death. In death we do not stop loving. In death we continue to love.
Death has no power love. Death ends physical life. But death cannot end love. Death cannot end eternal life.
Today is all soul's day. Today we remember our departed brothers and sisters. We remember our loved ones who have died. We remember all the souls in purgatory, who await the fulfillment of the eternal love of God. We remember them because we love them. We pray for them because our love goes beyond the limits of death.
