It may be difficult. It may put you in uncomfortable situations, earn you some enemies, or even force you into circumstances that you would rather not be in, but honesty will bring you a very long way in terms of relationship. It may bring pain, but the rewards, oftentimes for the long term, in terms of depth and meaning in a relationship are infinitely more fulfilling. Honesty definitely pays, and pays so much more.
