We are all called to share the good news of Jesus to others; to make known Jesus to the world. Preaching, or catechesis, has been a usual tactic to achieve this. Sts. Cosmas and Damian offers another way, not through words, but through works of mercy.
Cosmas and Damian are twin brothers. They both finished their medical studies. They became skillfull physicians. They practiced their profession with great success, but they did not get any fee for their services. It was said that because of this many were led to God.
Help without counting the cost. Give without expecting anything in return. Offer time without compensation. Share your talent even without appreciation. Let our works of mercy bring Jesus to others. Let our actions lead others to Him.
