In the celebration of the Easter Vigil, four signs of the risen Lord are given to us: the Paschal Candle, the Word of God, the Waters of Baptism and the Holy Eucharist.
The light from the Paschal Candle reminds us that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the coming of light that dispels darkness. The Word of God reminds us that the Lord continues to be part of our everyday life. The waters of Baptism reveals to us that the resurrection of Jesus has made us sons and daughters of the Father. And the holy Eucharist offers us the abiding presence of Jesus as the bread of life.
We are not alone. We are never alone for our God is alive and he is with us always and forever! Alleluia!
